I can't add much to Mike's fine words, and agree completely that your lessons are superb, not just for their instruction, but for their appreciation of the music. One thought that came to me last night was how deliberate the Beatles were: I mean they knew as they were making the music exactly what they were doing. One example is what you say about 'A Hard Day's Night': they knew it was going to be an opener so they put a lot of thought into the opening chord. Who else thought about putting arrangements together with that kind of care? You also mention in your lesson on 'I Wanna Hold Your Hand' that wanting a song that would do well in America, John Lennon just went ahead and wrote one. It's one thing to appreciate how good the Beatles were, but I feel your lessons illustrate how they were good - they sort of prove it! That Chet Atkins run on 'Help' sounds so cool to everyone hearing the song on a subliminal level - which is why the tunes sound so great - but your analysis shows how it works and sophisticated it was: what a musician George Harrison was at such a young age. I think anyone interested in song composition has to much to learn from the Beatles, as they used every trick in the book, but from your lessons, because you appreciate and demo the tricks, with a smile on your face in woder at how they came up with them so often. Thank you for your lessons!

Hi Mike
a few years ago, i saw a couple of video lessson from you at gibbson guitar, including a christmas song "Time is here". Unfortunately, this video clip can no longer be found on youtube. Maybe you can help me find the one. I know there are several guitarists who offer this lesson on the internet, but your interpretation always fascinates me best today. I am a hobby musician for jazz and acoustic guitar.
I wish you and your family a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
And stay healthy.
Kind regards

Mike,
You are one of the worlds givers, and you give so much. You have enriched the lives of so many people with your outstanding in depth studies of the genius of The Beatles. The way you savour the musical magic in their peerless songs, the way you illuminate their works, picking up on so much detail, so many nuances, for all this and more, my deepest heartfelt thanks.

Finally, I can play that opening chord for All I've Got To Do............and it feels good. Maybe You could show us how to play Matchbox and that wonderful rockabilly solo.

I love the fact that you have a connection with Sir Paul McCartney. I am probably the biggest 14 year old Beatles' fan and I like how your videos connect Beatles' lovers from across the world.
You are a great, great teacher. You know how to make anyone understand.

Hello.
I'm just 14 and eager to learn playing the guitar. But I don't won and I certainly won't for a long time considering how expensive they are. Your videos made me want to learn the guitar becaue of how easy and intersting you make it look. Hopefully, my parents would allow me to buy one. And then, your videos will be my help.
Thank you.

I first discovered you on the Gibson lessons site. I was working on Highway Star, I Am The Walrus , and Somewhere Over The Rainbow. My computer crashed and the lessons were lost. I reached out to Gibson with no luck then soon afterwards the shut down the format. Thankfully your Walrus video is still up. You're an outstanding player and teacher, thank you. You obviously spend quite a bit of time on these transcriptions and videos and I'm sure there are many of us out here that have benefited greatly from it. Keep up the stellar work and thanks again!
